Basic Green Drink |
The green drink is the epitome of refreshing, living energy from plant sources. Each mouthful of the juice should be "chewed" thoroughly (swished in the mouth) and mixed well with saliva before swallowing.
Fresh greens, such as comfrey, parsley, mint, lambs quarters, marshmallow (that is, common mallow), your dandelion and other local greens, blended into a base of pineapple juice in a blender. At first you may wish to strain out the pulp, but it is good for you too, and soon you should become accustomed to it. Some people make a green drink by simply blending the wildings into water, straining out the pulp and sweetening a bit with pure maple syrup or honey. This green drink supplies vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and healing factors in a fresh, assimilable form.
FTC COMFREY WARNING: External use only. Consuming comfrey can cause serious liver damage. Comfrey contains pyrrolizidine alkaloids, which may cause serious illness or death. Comfrey should not be taken orally, used as a suppository, or applied to broken skin. For further information contact the Food and Drug Administration: http://vm.cfsan.fda.gov
